Some recent cute moments
All too often I find myself thinking of what I should write about on my blog. I’m just over six months in and I’m trying to not get obsessed with how many posts I should be writing and what topics I should cover. Things need to come natural for me to maintain my enjoyment in producing my little corner of the internet and this post is an example of this.
Recently, I’ve been amazed with my Daughters caring and considerate outlook to life. She’s always been this way as she has so much love to give and sometimes this can manifest itself the wrong way. But it feels like its gone up a notch with her, in a brilliant way! Below are some examples that have been melting my heart of late.
Calm head in a crisis
My cousin came to stay with us for the weekend just gone and we decided to take iBear to the local park for a couple of hours before our planned jaunt into town to make merry in the numerous drinking establishments. We left Mammy at home to give her a little alone time. Once there, we played on all the usual things and while iBear was happy pottering around we decided to give the see saw a go for a laugh. As big kids do we went a little too far and the end result was my cousin being launched off the see saw, through the air and and crashing down onto the metal frame….
As he was on the ground recovering I saw Isla making a beeline for the park entrance. I called for her to stop but she had this look of determination on her face as she was attempting to open the gate. When I finally got her to stop and ask where she was going she says “I need to go and get Mammy so she can help my Uncle!”…..
The supportive one
The other day I was chatting to iBear about a meeting I had to go to after I’d finished work and that I’d be a little late coming home. As we were chatting I joked with her that it was my first ever meeting and that I was a little nervous. She looked up at me and demanded I “Wait there” and she disappeared upstairs. Eventually she returned with her cuddly toy Reindeer. “Take Mr Claus with you Daddy and you’ll be ok” she says before adding “But don’t press his foot as he’ll start singing and we don’t want that!”….. I made sure I took a selfie with Mr Claus in car before my meeting so I could show her later.
Sharing is caring
At a Sunday tea around the in-laws there was the dreaded ‘One tea cake leftover’ situation. Mammy, iBear and I all wanted it so we agreed she could have half and Mammy and I would take a quarter each. iBear took her half and ripped it in two before handing one section to her Uncle. “For you” she says.
Everyone gets a turn
Mammy had been talking to iBear about maybe visiting Lightwater Valley again this year following a great day they had there with the two of them and her Uncle last year. I’ve never been that keen on theme parks so I didn’t mind if the three of them wanted to go. “No” says iBear, if we do that then Uncle G has been two times and Daddy hasn’t been at all. Daddy needs to come so they’ve both got one each!”
One Dads View
All the above are brilliant examples of how my Daughter has been developing emotionally over the last few months. I’m so proud of her for being the kind, considerate loving girl she is. Sure times aren’t always this rosy but who doesn’t love a few “ahhhhhh” moments!

I love witnessing children flourish. Ben has really been developing recently and really into playing – which in turn means sharing… even when it means every bite of food he has we need to “try” it first! hahaha. iBear is a credit to you and you must be so proud!!
Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week lovely!
Thanks for the kind words and your support of my blog MMH. It’s very much appreciated. I love how Ben makes you try his food! They’re brilliant aren’t they.
I hope the Uncle was ok. It is so sweet to see children learning compassion! #triumphanttales
He was a bit bruised both ego wise and physically but he’s fine. Thanks for the comment, she’s developing a very kind heart. 🙂
Aww, I love those moments where you just sit and watch your child think, explore and take things in. It’s lovely seeing how they interpret things and this post describes this wonderfully #Triumphanttales
Thank you for the kind words. I really could watch her all day!
